Personally, I believe that the best internet marketing strategy is to bring people to you, is through persuasive and quality content.
The absolute best way to generate targeted traffic is through the search engines. This can only be successful if you have niche keyword optimized content on your website.
Once you get your site ranked in the top two pages of the search results, you will get lots of traffic from your website marketing.
Frankly, all websites should be built around a niche market. The whole idea is to offer people what they really want to buy - not what you would like to sell.
To find a niche is just a matter of doing some research, and Google has an excellent tool for this. Just check all the search terms that people are using on the internet. Then you look at the demand verses the supply.
In other words, you want search terms that are around 3,000 to 80,000. Anything over 80,000 is too competitive, and anything under 100 is not of enough interest. The supply, or rather, the amount of websites that serve that particular market, should always be much lower than the demand.
Once you have these prospects, then you need to narrow it down to as tight of a niche as possible. If you use a broad keyword, the market will be too competitive to make any money in.
An absolute crucial website marketing strategy is to determine if the niche is marketable - if there are some kind of products or services that can address it.
Then you make this niche your market by offering these people what they are looking for!
